We’re bringing a world-class children’s museum to the Hudson Valley — a flagship destination for all of Orange County, with satellite experiences that bring the museum closer to home.

The Plan

A flagship museum of approximately 30,000 square feet filled with hands-on STEM, art, and imaginative play exhibits — plus satellite locations throughout the county, so the museum experience is never far from home.

Founded by the Junior League of Orange County, NY. We are a volunteer organization of women who have driven community impact in the Hudson Valley for generations, including co-founding the People for People Fund in 1985 and Orange County’s Rising Stars in 2006.

Founded by the Junior League of Orange County, NY

The Orange County Children’s Museum is an initiative of the Junior League of Orange County, NY, an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing women’s potential, and improving our community through effective action and leadership.

For decades, JLOCNY has identified needs in our community and built lasting solutions to meet them, including co-founding the People for People Fund in 1985, which continues to serve hardworking families across the region today, and Orange County’s Rising Stars in 2006, our region’s signature leadership recognition event.

A children’s museum is our next chapter: a permanent, joyful place of learning for every child in Orange County.

Why a Children’s Museum? And Why Now?

“We drive to Poughkeepsie or Rye for museums because there’s nothing like that here. If Orange County had its own children’s museum, we’d be members in a heartbeat. My kids need those hands-on learning experiences.”
